We all watched this on hollywood movies, perhaps some James Bond or a fancy Sci-Fi movie. It always aroused a special inquisitiveness as to when it will be available. A transparent 3D Computer, that allows one to physically move folders and files around in the air.

Now I feel proud to inform all the readers that it has finally taken birth! That’s right! A transparent computer, named SpaceTop 3D Desktop that allows users to reach inside and touch digital content has been unveiled at the Technology, Education and Design (TED) conference in Los Angeles.
TED fellow Jinha Lee along with Microsoft brought this idea alive. This computer allows users to work on their machines just like solid objects and makes computing much more interactive and intuitive. As told to BBC, Lee cheerfully says, “the SpaceTop 3D would come to the general implementation within a decade”.
Space Top has been made of transparent LED display and number of cameras that record the eye movements and the hand gestures of the users.
Translating the spatial memory, that observes, remembers and then acts accordingly, to the digital world will enable people to use computers more easily as well as complete more complex tasks.
“If you are working on a document you can pick it up and flip through it like a book,” he said
Since the system is still is in its early stages, it can not do precision related tasks, therefore for this, a touch pad has also been provided.
